![]() I have a question about the PAIR mod for the DRZ400SM. The ECU allowing complete programmability of all parameters which is not something that you find on OEM systems The FCR39 was the carburetor that the DRZ was designed with although, you guessed it, it was changed to the smaller, wheezy, BSR36 for emissions reasonsīoth my DRZs have fuel injection, the system designed for performance over emissions. For a real hoot an FCR39 as a replacement for the BSR36 currently fitted would be a huge upgrade. This just means that the carb bike can't be mucked with too much. ![]() Fuel injection allows a lot more of this type of thing than the a carb does. Yes you have been the victim of the nanny state placing emissions before performance. ![]() I think an EFI system can never replace a carb's performance on motorcycles in my experience. Coming from fuel injected bikes with emission control, and removing the emissions controls, moding the throttle bodies, airboxes, full exhaust system replacement, and remaping in order to make the bikes run normal, it's a breath of fresh air to have excellent fueling without doing any of this.
